SprinterOne of the most common complaints is pain in the area of the heel, also described as Heel Pain Syndrome. It is characterized by an inflammation of the plantar fascia as it attaches to the calcaneus (heel bone). The plantar fascia can become inflamed in general due to overpronation of the foot during heel strike or at toe-off (propulsion phase of gait). This syndrome is more common in people with high arches and those who are on their feet for long periods of time.
